Political
Experience
Rich is in his first term representing the 33rd Senate District.
He previously served two terms representing the 98th Assembly
District. He was first elected in 2006 by receiving 59% of
the vote in
a 5-way Republican primary and 71% in the general election. He was
handily returned to Madison by the voters in 2008 with 72% of the vote.
He was first elected to the State Senate in 2010, with 74% of
the vote in the primary election.
Rich currently serves on the following committees in the Senate:
- Committee on Judiciary, Utilities, Commerce, and Government Operations (Chair)- Joint Committee on Finance
- Committee
on State and Federal Relations and Information Technology
Prior to his legislative career, Rich served Waukesha

and
Washington Counties as U.S. Congressman Jim Sensenbrenner’s District
Director and Deputy Chief of Staff.

Experience
In addition to serving in the Assembly, Rich has been an attorney in
private practice. Rich's work has included estate planning and the
drafting of wills and trusts for Wisconsin families.

Personal
Rich and his wife, Rita, live in the City of Pewaukee with
their children, where they are active members of St. Anthony on the
Lake Catholic Church. Rita is an Associate Financial Representative
with Northwestern Mutual Financial Network in Brookfield.
Rich is an avid fisherman and deer hunter. He is a member of the
Pewaukee Chamber of Commerce, the Waukesha and Washington County
Republican Parties, the
State Bar of Wisconsin, and is a board member of Bethany Christian
Services Adoption & Orphan Care Agency of Wisconsin. Rich is
also a
past board member of the Brookfield Optimists.
